BOONTON, NJ – Republican Assemblyman Anthony Bucco (LD-25) released the following statement regarding his overwhelming victory in tonight’s primary election:
“I would like to thank the voters of Morris and Somerset counties for their continued confidence in me and my record on behalf of taxpayers. It’s an honor to serve and I look forward to securing another term to help lead the fight in Trenton to make New Jersey more affordable.
I would also like to offer my most sincere congratulations to Aura Dunn, Brian Bergen and John Barbarula on a clean, hard-fought race. I look forward to working with the second candidate selected by voters tonight.
As we look toward the general election, the contrast with our opponents is clear. Lisa Bhimani and Darcy Draeger are far out of the mainstream, simply part of the far-left Bernie Sanders / Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wing of the Democrat party. They will rubber stamp Gov. Murphy’s misguided policies, meaning higher taxes, more fees and higher energy prices, causing families and businesses to leave our state in droves. This is a fight for effective, common-sense leadership vs. the liberal out-of-touch Trenton Democrats and rich special interests.
From tax relief and school safety, to stopping overdevelopment and fighting for the most vulnerable, I’m proud of my common-sense record and stand ready to continue my fight for the taxpayers, families and seniors of this district. I look forward to seeing everyone out on the campaign trail.”
